Bedfordshire and Luton are bordering with Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, and Northamptonshire. Bedfordshire and Luton have an estimated population of about 576, 800 and occupy an approximately 123, 153 hectares. The area is countryside and has plenty of towns.
Apart from our apparent diversity, we are also facing other risks such as the London Luton Airport and some of road systems like the M1 and M2 motorways. In addition to that, Bedfordshire is becoming the center of national distribution which means that there are lots of industries and warehouses erected in the area. As a matter of fact, one of the demanding commercial railways runs from Bedford south to London and past it.
Thus, 14 Fire Stations and an Emergency Communication Center are installed as our strategy to get back emergencies easily.
5 stations at Luton, Stopsley, Dunstable, Bedford and Kempston are all 24 hours open. Also, , the Retained Duty System personnel assist the Bedford and Kempston stations.
Furthermore, there are 7 stations installed at Harrold, Sandy, Potton, Shefford, Ampthill, Biggleswade and Woburn which are manned by the RDS personnel.
