Dumfries and Galloway Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue service of Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland that covers a total area of 6,200 kilometers square with a population of 147,765.
Currently, the service owns 17 fire stations, of which only 1 station is operating fulltime which means to say that it is open 24 hours daily while the 15 stations are operating based on a retained duty system which means to say that on-call firefighters live nearby the stations so they can come over within 5 minutes after a call is received. The service has 1 Auxiliary unit at Drummore.
There are 29 equipments covering the whole area of Dumfries and Galloway. Most of the appliances are regular fire and rescue appliances and the remaining are specialist units which are:
