Gloucestersihre Fire and Rescue Service covers 2,653 kilometers square and 575,400 people. It is the statutory fire service of Gloucestershire county, England and it is managed by the Gloucestershire County Council. The South of Glouvestershire is not included to the service’s jurisdiction as it is (the former) is covered by Avon Fire and Rescue Service.
The main station is based at TriService Emegency Centre in Quedeley, nearby Gloucester and it is managed by Chief Fire Officer Chris Griffin. Other entities operating there are Gloucestershire Constabulary and Great Western Ambulance Service.
The service performs a varied of tasks which includes road accidents to rescuing people trapped in buildings and putting out fires in houses and other establishments. They are also into community fire safety which means to say that they are initiating for a, symposia, and/or orientations to inform and educate the public regarding fire preventive measures and fire risks reduction.
