Humberside Fire and Rescue Service

2011 06 12 2041 Humberside Fire and Rescue ServiceHumberside Fire and Rescue Service was created in 1974 when a new law was passed stating that all counties must have their own official fire service. The service is managed by the Humberside Fire Authority but prior to 1995, the management was in the hands of the Humberside City Council.

The service covers the area of unitary authorities of East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston upon Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire all comprising a 3, 510 kilometers squares with 890,000 residents.

The headquarters is located at the western outskirts of Hull and has 32 operational fire stations based at all over the county. These stations are divided into 6 community protection unit which covers each area of Humberside.

In the East Community Protection Unit (CPU) Dividion, the stations are based in Hull Central and East, Partington, Preston, and Withernsea. In the North East CPU, the stations are based at Bridlington, Driffield, Hornsea, and Sledmere but it was closed on November 1 2008. Then there are stations installed at Beverley, Bransholme, Hull North, Market Weighton and Pocklington  in the Northwest CPU division. Furthermore, in the Southeast CPU division, the stations are based at Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Grimsby West, Immingham East, Immingham West and Waltham. And for the Southwest CPU division they are at Barton, Brigg, Crowle, Epworth, Kirton in Lindsey, Scunthorpe, and Winterton. And in the 6th division, in the West CPU, the stations are at Brough, Goole, Howden, Hull West and Snaith.
