Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service covers more than 3,000 kilometers square areas and it is responsible to 1.5 million residents. They are the statutory fire and service in Lancahire County. A total of 39 operational stations are strategically scattered across the region to provide a better service; the headquarters is based at Fullwood in Preston and the training center is at Washington Hall in Euxton. Furthermore, the service has more than 1500 staff which are on-duty 24 hours and 7 days a week.
The service takes in many roles such as rescuing people trapped from collapsed buildings/houses, putting out fires in houses, open spaces, and in buildings and a lot more. The service as well is into community safety that is why they focus their efforts on reduction of fire risks through prevention; restriction of the consequences through protection work; and a provision of professional and quick response to slow down fires in case all options fail.
The Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is committed to their objectives and they are not complacent with their work. They are doing it better by cooperating with local authorities and other partners.
