Norfolk Fire and Rescue Services is administered by Norfolk County Council which is under the Norfolk Fire Authority.
Today, the service’s task is not confined to fire-related issues but encompasses variety of roles. They are in a pro-active prevention project but still maintaining their commitment to respond to emergencies. Meaning to say, they are moving away from the passé notion of prioritizing the salvage of properties than people- they are now more concerned to saving human lives. They are more inclined at rescue operations on all type of emergencies. As a consequence, all Fire Authorities are required to make their own Safety Plans which is otherwise known as the Integrated Risk Management Plan. In Norfolk’s case, the service is trying to have a yearly consultation regarding fire prevention measures. Just like with other UK fire services, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service is into community safety as well.
