South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service

SYFandR South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue ServiceSouth Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue service of South Yorkshire, England.  It is divided into 4 areas consisting of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Shefield.

The service performs variety of roles which range from putting out fires, rescuing people from trapped buildings or enclosed spaces, attending road traffic collisions, and educating the public regarding fire risk reduction and fire prevention measures.

The service has 23 operational fire stations installed all over the county. There 17 stations operating on a wholetime duty system and 6 retained stations which are crewed by retained/on-call firefighters who live nearby the stations so they can come over within 5 minutes after a call is received.

In Barnsley, the stations are at Barnsley, Cudworth, Penistone, Royston, and Tankersley. There are stations also in Adwick-le-Street, Askern, Doncaster, Edlington, Rossington, and Thorne in Doncaster District. In Rothertham Distrcit, the fire stations are in Ashton Park, Dearne, Maltby, and Rotherham. Fire stations are also installed in Central, Lowedges Road, Mansfield Road, and Mosborough in East Sheffield District; and in the West Sheffield, the stations are in Darnall Road, Elm Lane, Rivelin Valley, and Stocksbridge.
