UK’s Fire Service: World-class Service

In every community, there is a great need for public services in order for the citizens to live a happy and secured life. It’s always good to know that there are people out there who can assure you that you’re in good hands especially in times of need and emergency. UK’s Fire Service is one of those public services a community couldn’t survive without.

The first fire brigade in the UK was in the early 17th century. The towns were still relying on mechanical pumps and these fire brigades only respond to those who have insurance. A company or a building pays premium on their insurance company so that it will be ensured when a fire occurs. To distinguish a building that has insurance, a firemark is placed on it that when a building is on fire, several fire brigades will attend. However, the only fire brigade who will stop the fire is the one that has its firemark on the building. If the building has no firemark, it will be left until it comes into ashes.

Today, there is a fire unit on most parts of UK’s vicinities and its service is for everybody. The United Kingdom has one of the fast growing industries. Because of this situation, more buildings are established; more families are getting their own houses and more communities are developed. In line with this progress, Fire Services are making sure that the UK’s progress is secured from the devastation that a fire brings.

The UK’s fire service’s main goal is to ensure everyone’s safety at home, at work and in the community. In line with this, the fire units conduct campaigns and awareness activities. The firemen perform seminars for parents and children about fire safety. They also promote fire alarms for every home and business place and provide emergency plans for every building. All these services are done for the sake of reducing arson, fires and lost lives.

In every day in the UK, somebody somewhere is using fire for cooking, heating, building and so on. The chances are high that accidents may occur. However, with qualified fire units and dedicated firemen the fear and anxiety of the citizens are significantly lessened. The largest fire brigade in the UK is the London Fire Brigade and their mission is to make London a safer city for Londoners and its visitors. Every public  deserves a true and committed public service.
